In our dedicated pursuit of appreciating Hispanic cultural traditions, we embarked on a project rooted in the "Consolidation/Body" brief. This carefully crafted framework tasked us with selecting a specific Hispanic cultural tradition and drawing inspiration from it to create an artistic expression that respects its essence. For this endeavor, we chose to pay homage to the Charras of Salamanca, who inhabit the charro territory in Spain. In navigating this creative process, we sought a thoughtful reinterpretation that preserved the authenticity of the skirt pattern and the significance of the tradition. The resulting interventions, "Estojar" and "Fosco," emerged as distinct entities, each contributing its own unique value to the representation of the charra skirt's semicircular pattern, which is used to create all the pieces in 'Fusion'. Angela Lizarraga, Sofia Equíroz, Bibiana Morales, Bruno Puelinckx, and Leyre Caro were instrumental in infusing this project with their creativity and expertise. The intentional separation of these interventions highlights their individual strengths, yet the true magic unfolds when they are seamlessly fused. This deliberate union forms a third intervention, the culmination of our collective vision and creativity, ultimately named "Fusión." In this harmonious blend, the values of "Estojar" and "Fosco" come together to create a fuller, nuanced representation—a testament to our commitment to both artistic innovation and cultural appreciation within the context of the "Consolidation/Body" brief.
