This project proposes an inflatable mattress designed as a compact and functional piece of furniture, where storage and inflation are fully integrated into the object itself. When not in use, the mattress is deflated and rolled back into its base, allowing for easy, clean, and low-clutter storage without additional components.
When deployed, the product is unrolled and inflated using a pump integrated into the base, eliminating external accessories and simplifying use. The base is designed to serve a dual function: it acts as a structural support when the mattress is in use and as a containment system when the product is stored.
Manufactured using residual PVC tarpaulin heat-sealed through high-frequency welding, the project was developed in collaboration with Lonas Técnicas de Navarra. It explores air as a structural material and inflation as the activating action of the object, resulting in a lightweight, portable furniture solution optimized for limited spaces.
